What is Conversion?

You might hear about “what is the conversion of this website?” or “what is the conversion of my ads”. Have you ever thought about what is conversion?

Here, I will briefly introduce what is conversion?

Users interact with ads and free product listings (such as clicking on text ads or watching video ads), followed by certain actions that are valuable to the advertiser (such as purchasing products on the site or making inquiries on smartphones). This is called a conversion.

Conversions are measured by conversion tracking. You can measure conversions with a variety of tracking methods, depending on how you interact with your ads and free listings. Conversions are measured on a variety of platforms (such as mobile and PC) and may include estimated conversions. Estimated conversions use data that doesn’t identify individual users to estimate conversions that Google can’t see directly. By using conversion tracking, you can have a clearer picture of your conversions.

The following are some specific example of conversion:

  • Purchase of goods and services
  • Inquiries / consultations
  • Request for materials, free samples, application for a free trial
  • Application for participation in an event
